First Covid-19 vaccine shots given in the U.S.

At Long Island Jewish Medical Center a critical-care nurse was one of the first to receive the Covid-19 vaccine. She was excited like many other nurses and doctors to receive the vaccine. Starting Monday vaccines will be sent out nationwide, many doctors and nurses are glad for the arrival. Most places hospitals received the vaccine the night before and prepared to administer them the following morning. The U.S. has not been the only country to use the vaccine, Britain started to administer to the elderly. Within taking two does it is 95% effective, symptoms are yet to be seen.

8-year-old cancer survivor gets to be Santa's dentist

In 2019, eight-year-old Alex Carico, from Lorain County, Cleveland was diagnosed with a rare form of cancer, neuroblastoma. Going through chemotherapy for the past year, Alex is now in remission. He has always wanted to be a dentist and by the kind people from Crest his dream to become a dentist came true. Along with his white coat and tools, his first patient was none other than Santa Claus himself. Many smiles were brought to Alex and his family. Alex did great and even gave Santa advice to brush his teeth daily.

NYPD Shoots Armed Suspect at Cathedral Church

On Dec. 13, shots went off at The Cathedral Church of St. John the Divine. Motive for the shooting is still under investigation and the name of the shooter has yet to be released, but the police have confirmed the suspect does have prior criminal history. The shooter was shot multiple time after telling the police to shoot him and was the only one harmed. After searching the area police found additional guns, gas, rope, wire, and multiple knives. Due to his gunshot wounds he died at St. Luke's hospital.

California Governor Gavin Newsom Relaxes Quarantine Rules for Covid-Exposed Workers

On Monday Governor Gavin Newsom issued new rules regarding Covid-19 workers exposure. Due to the already low numbers of medical and other essential works, the rules to go back to work have been changed. All asymptomatic close contact, those who have been in a six feet contact with an infected person, can discontinue quarantine after ten days. Asymptomatic health care, emergency response, and social service works are not prohibited from returning to work after day seven of quarantine. They still have to wear masks after day seven work and and outside the home until day 14. If any symptoms occur quarantine and notify a doctor.

Oil Tanker Attacked At Saudi Port

Monday morning a docked oil tanker was attacked by a boat with explosives, at the Saudi port city of Jeddah. European officials have suspected that the attack along with other recent attacks, by Saudi-aligned Houthi rebels are to blame. No comment has been made by the Hothis, but an unauthorized comment was made from an official of the movement.

He said "Attack Yemenis, so they should expect Yemenis to attack back.”

Due to the oil block gas prices are rising as well tensions between the United States, Saudi Arabia, and Iran.
