Hill Fire in Jurupa Valley Now 15% Contained After Burning 628 Acres
Evacuation orders were given by firefighters to the community of Jurupa Valley according to Riverside County officials. This fire has burned 628 acres so far. The Hill fire was called in at 10 a.m. Wednesday morning, and was 15% contained by 6:30 p.m. Wednesday afternoon. Mandatory evacuations had been ordered for several communities. According to fire department officials, one person suffered minor injuries and was taken to a hospital. Two homes were damaged as well, one of which was a mobile home.

House committees are seeking testimony from former national security adviser John Bolton as President Trump, White House officials and House Republican leaders are working behind the scenes to keep GOP members in line ahead of Thursday’s critical vote on the impeachment process. This includes Rudolph W. Giuliani, who was pressing Ukraine to investigate Democrats, according to two officials who spoke on the condition of anonymity in order to be able to speak frankly. A Democratic-led panel voted Wednesday afternoon to advance a resolution setting the parameters of the public phase of the Trump impeachment inquiry. The White House is planning to invite a group of Republicans to meet with Trump before the Thursday roll call, hoping to rally the troops.

New lawsuit alleges Juul sold 1 million contaminated pods
The e-cigarette company Juul allegedly sold 1 million contaminated vape liquid pods earlier this year without telling customers or issuing a recall, according to a lawsuit filed Tuesday by a former company executive. Siddharth Breja was a former senior vice president of global finance who worked at the San Francisco–based company. He was terminated in March 2019 after raising concerns about the batch of contaminated pods shipped to retailers for sale. Breja said he raised concerns about reselling expired vaping pods to consumers and suggested the company include a “best by” date on their packaging.

Nationals complete one last comeback to win the World Series in year and postseason full of them
Nationals were the underdogs of the 2019 World Series. It is safe to say the doubters were wrong. The Washington Nationals won the 2019 World Series on Wednesday, defeating the Houston Astros in Game 7 by a 6-2 final. Staying true to character, the Nationals required a comeback to win the game, as they entered the seventh trailing by a 2-0 score. Yet home runs by Anthony Rendonand Howie Kendrick pulled the Nationals ahead, and they were able to extend their lead to 6-2 entering the bottom of the ninth thanks to timely hitting from Juan Soto and Adam Eaton.

SCE power outages affect 10,654 customers in Riverside, San Bernardino counties
Southern California Edison shut off power to 10,654 customers in Riverside and San Bernardino counties on Wednesday, as strong winds and low humidity elevated wildfire risks. Affected customers in Riverside County are in Cabazon and the unincorporated area of Lakeview Hot Springs. In San Bernardino County Fontana, San Bernardino, Rancho Cucamonga and Rialto customers had their power off. Many of these San Bernardino County cities are still being affected by this shut off. As of 10:30 a.m. Wednesday morning, the total number of SCE customers without power stood at 68,665 across six counties including Los Angeles and Orange.
