A Perfect Night in L.A.
By Angel Gomez
The box seats themselves were spacious and accommodating. As you enter the room, there is a table with multiple Laker handbooks with information on the players, coaching staff and their official schedule for the season. Beyond the small seating area, there are the box seats which are shared with other fans who have reserved the room as well but there is plenty of room to watch comfortably.
The game itself was incredible. Throughout the first quarter, the Lakers were struggling against their Western Conference rivals, the Phoenix Suns, who were able to take a daunting lead and go up 48-26 leaving the Lakers in the dust.
However, that is as big as the lead would get. With sheer will and play, the Lakers were able to claw their way back inch by inch to make this a game worth watching.
With their new strategy in play, Anthony Davis is the focal point for the Lakers offense instead of relying heavily on the almost 40-year-old LeBron. It has made the new-look Lakers more dangerous than ever.
Not only that, but prioritizing offensive rebounds, three-point shooting and ball movement has made the Lakers go from a stagnant defensive team that mainly drives to the basket to an ever-changing offense with multiple weapons.
This is of course due to the hiring of JJ Reddick, a controversial pick for the Lakers head coach but so far, he has been an improvement to the overall team culture and strategies of The Lakers.
This comeback was not a surprise; it was team-play and clutch three point making from bench players and Anthony Davis’s impressive 35-point, 4 assists and 8 rebounds game capping the game off with a 116-123 score.
This win came out ahead, as the Dodgers capped off their first game of the World Series making the fans in their arena erupt with excitement. It was truly a perfect night for LA.
