L.A. County shutting down in-person dining

After L.A. County enforced curfew restrictions on Nov. 21, officials say restaurants, breweries, wineries, and bars can only operate for take-out, drive-thru, or delivery services starting Nov. 25 at 10pm. This comes after COVID-19 in L.A. County topped 4,000 new daily cases during a five-day period. This restriction will be practiced for a minimum of three weeks and will become tougher if there is no drop in cases. The number of hospitalized patients rose 35% over the past seven days. More than 364,520 have tested positive for COVID-19 across L.A. County, with a total of 7,438 deaths.

Some airlines will begin selling the “middle” seat

Airlines blocked the middle seats for months as a result of the ongoing coronavirus pandemic. This was to allow passengers to practice social distancing while onboard a flight. Now, at a time when the virus is peaking, air travel is increasing and the holiday season isn’t helping. Delta Airlines announced they will continue blocking their middle seats for the long run (except in the case of household families traveling together), in contrast with other airlines. Airlines such as Southwest, Hawaiian, and Alaska have given dates on when they will unblock the middle seats.

Southwest Airlines - Dec. 1

Hawaiian Airlines - Dec. 15

Alaska Airlines - Jan. 6
