Joe Biden Overtakes Pennsylvania and Georgia

As of Friday morning, Democratic Party candidate Joe Biden has surpassed President Donald Trump in votes for two key states according to The Associated Press. Although the numbers are still very narrow, if Biden wins Pennsylvania, that would put him well over the 270 electoral votes needed to win the race. In an even narrower race, Biden has taken a small lead of about 1,000 votes in Georgia. The state has not voted democratic since 1992. More vote counts are set to release today, but the legal oppositions by the Trump Campaign might delay the results by days.

Nevada Becomes First State to Constitutionally Protect Same-Sex Marriage

Nevada might be one of the last states to finish counting their ballots, but they are the first in the nation to protect same-sex marriage in its constitution. On Tuesday’s elections, nearly two-thirds of Nevada voters made their voices heard and voted against the previous constitution which ruled marriage is only between a man and a woman. This constitutional amendment means the constitution will recognize all marriages regardless of gender. It also means that if the federal Supreme Court votes to reverse its decision on same-sex marriage, Nevada will still be able to protect marriages in the state.

Colorado Joins the List of States to Abolish the Electoral Vote

Frustrated democrats still upset over the 2016 election where President Donald Trump won the election but lost the popular vote by over two million are working hard to establish the “one person, one vote” system. The National Popular Vote Interstate Compact is essentially a way to abolish the electoral vote without actually amending it via the U.S. Constitution. The U.S Presidency is currently not decided by voters but by members of the electoral college who are assigned based on the results of the popular vote in each state. Supporters say the measure would force candidates to campaign in states that are overlooked.

New Technology Allows Cameras to Capture Colors Invisible to the Human Eye

Photographs are about to get more colorful; new research is on its way allowing cameras to recognize colors that can’t be seen or even captured by current cameras. The new technology will able to capture colors beyond blue and red, like gases, hydrogen, carbon and sodium. All of which are currently invisible to the naked eye. The research comes from Tel Aviv University, and it is already being labeled as groundbreaking for medicine as the new technology will allow cancer cells to be easily detected since they have a certain type of higher concentration molecules. It is also being closely monitored by the gaming industry and photographers for what it will do in a more creative environment.
