Advocacy Journalism Benefiting Society

It seems as though news organizations these days are often criticized as being too biased towards the left or the right. However, advocacy journalism is said to use a non-objective attitude towards reporting. Jackie Serrato, Editor-in-Chief of South Side Weekly, has also stated that her publication views advocacy journalism as simply journalism, requiring all sources and authorities to fact check.

Judge Rejects Trump's Attempt to File Lawsuit in Pennsylvania

The Trump Campaign has reportedly failed to file an injunction in Pennsylvania related to voter fraud during the 2020 election. It claims that certain counties permitted mail-in voters to fix problems with the ballots by casting provisional ones, while other counties didn't, and this apparently violated equal protection under the Constitution. 

U.S. District Court Judge Matthew Brann writes that, "Rather than requesting that their votes be counted, they seek to discredit scores of other votes, but only for one race," and, "This is simply not how the Constitution works.”

As a worldwide pandemic that began late last year continues on, plans of distributing vaccines are beginning to take place. The difficult question of who will receive them first is one of many that will have to be answered in the coming months. Experts say the decisions these countries make should be based on what's accepted by society instead of only officials and politicians.

Raiders Show No New Positives

After several Las Vegas Raiders defenders were placed on the reserve/COVID list, there were no new positive cases. The defensive players were initially regarded as "high risk". However, once results have been finalized, they will be able to play against the Chiefs on the 22nd.

Man in Florida Rescues Puppy From Gator

Surveillance cameras captured 73 year old Richard Wilbanks chasing down an Alligator in his backyard pond that had almost caught his three month old Cocker Spaniel, Gunner. The puppy had a puncture wound, but managed to recover after a trip to the vet. Wilbanks still takes him for walks, but keeps him on a leash and far enough away from the pond.
