NBA Offseason Schedule
The NBA is trying to finish the 2020-21 season in time for the Summer Olympics in Japan, so they came up with a “shortened” schedule to accommodate it. The season starts on Dec. 22, two months after the 2019-20 NBA season concluded. The draft will be on Nov. 18, free agency will start on Nov, 20, teams can start training camps on Dec. 1, the preseason is Dec. 11 through Dec. 19 and the season begins Dec. 22. Usually the NBA offseason starts in June and lasts until the start of the new season in Oct. but COVID-19 delayed the 2019-20 season.
