Postal carrier accused of stealing mail-in ballots
A U.S. postal service carrier in Miami was accused of stealing a Miami-dade county mail-in ballot and other mail such as, 10 gift cards, four prepaid debit cards and regular mail earlier this month. The U.S. postal service carrier was a woman named Crystal Nicole Myrie and she embezzled letters, postal cards and mail which were intended to be delivered by her but did not. When questioned by two postal inspector agents on Friday, Myrie admitted to stealing several prepaid debit cards and actually using them for herself. When the agents searched her personal car, they were surprised to find several postal service satchels filled with mail she was supposed to deliver but kept to herself. “By stealing the victims vote-by-mail ballot, Myrie deprived the victim of her right to vote”, the complaint said.

Children separated at U.S.-Mexico border still can’t be found
Despite a Federal Judges order that government had to reunite families who had been separated at the U.S.-Mexico border, according to a court document filed Tuesday by the U.S. justice department and the American civil liberties union, the parents of 545 children still can not be found. Thousands of families had been separated under the policy before the Trump administration ended the practice in 2018. The ACLU sued the government and successfully won the court to help reunite families and although thousands had returned to their families, about 1,000 families who had been separated due to a pilot program, were not covered by the court order. The update on reunification efforts were filed ahead for a status conference scheduled for Thursday in San Diego. The ACLU’s Gerlernt says about 360 of the children still have not been found.
