Latest news on the war in Ukraine: WNBA star, Brittney Griner who has been detained in Russia since March 5, 2022 after customs found a vape cartridge containing hashish oil, has been released from Russia in a prisoner swap for convicted international arms dealer, Viktor Bout. Griner will be home to meet with her family soon.

Latinos reveal the discrimination and racism at Amazon.

A company that generates the most jobs in the country, with their workforce population mostly being Latino, some of their current and former employees come forward to say that that the success of the company is hiding their stories of racism and harassment in the work environment. Dina Cuervo, former Amazon employee, steps forward to claim her encounter with her ex-supervisor: "Me decía que él no entendía que estaba yo haciendo ahí en esa bodega como mujer, como colombiana, como latina”

Translation: "He told me that he did not understand what I was doing there in that warehouse as a woman, as a Colombian, as a Latina"

The alleged killing of Texas girl by FedEx diver raises security concerns of the company.

On Nov. 30, 2022, 7-year-old Athena Presley Monroe Strand was abducted from her home and killed by alleged 31-year-old FedEx contract diver, Tanner Lynn Horner, who confessed to the crimes. Horner made a delivery to the home the same day Strand went missing. FedEx releases a statement in regards to the loss of words they had to the events. "Our thoughts remain with the family of Athena Strand during this most difficult time. Words cannot express our shock and sorrow surrounding this tragic event and we continue to cooperate fully with the investigating authorities," provided Fox News Digital. Now the company faces survey of other delivery drivers who have allegedly carried out crimes.

The House passes a bill to protect same-sex marriage and interracial marriage, completing the last step before sending it to President Biden.

Thursday, Dec. 8, 2022, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi of California announces the final passage of the bill with protection for same-sex and interracial marriage before passing it on to President Joe Biden for signature to become law. The House voted 258 to 169, with 39 Republicans joining Democrats voting favor. Though the bill will not be a national requirement, it calls for individual states recognition of another state’s legal marriage. House speaker Nancy Pelosi writes in an op-ed: “Just as I began my career fighting for LGBTQ communities, I am overjoyed that one of the final bills I will sign as speaker will be the Respect for Marriage Act: ensuring the federal government will never again stand in the way of marrying the person you love".

More than 16,644 people have disappeared in Mexico in 2022., the majority of the missing are men.

At least 26 people disappear in Mexico each day, and a large part of the missing population is not located. According to the National Search Commission, 68% of the missing are men who have not been reported, in most cases. The number is predicted to be much high with the number of reports not dated or put in. This past year 16,644 people have gone missing in Mexico. There is no indication of where these people could have gone or been taken to.

The Men's 2022 FIFA World Cup experts pick the knockout stage for the quarterfinals to the semifinals, with Brazil at the top.

This years Men's FIFA World Cup held in Qatar competition has kicked off and has already made it to the quarter finals, where experts Alexi Lalas and Aly Wagner have predicted who will make it to the semifinals and make it to the top. Both predictors have a unanimous agreement for Brazil to take the cup home. Lalas predicts that the Netherlands v. Brazil will allow Brazil to advance with France v. Portugal, with France advancing to the finals where France and Brazil will go head-to-head with Brazil winning their sixth win. Wagner predicts that Netherlands v. Brazil will allow Brazil to advance to the finals along with England after England v. Portugal, where Brazil and England will go head-to-head and lead to Brazil's sixth win.
