FIBA World Cup
The FIBA World Cup, the biggest international basketball tournament, is on and only one country can win.

The stage is set for the one of the biggest international basketball tournaments in the world. It Is taking place in Indonesia, Japan, and the Philippines for the 2023 Fédération Internationale de Basket-ball World Cup, FIBA WC. There are 32 international teams participating, the rosters are made up of players from leagues around the world.
The 32-team tournament starts with a group stage, consisting of 8 groups of 4 teams, the top two teams from each group will move on. The next stage features 4 groups of 4 teams. The top two teams will advance to the knockout stages afterward to determine the FIBA WC Champion. The games start on Aug. 25, 2023, and the tournament ends on Sep. 10, 2023.
Team USA will be taking part in this tournament for the 19th time. The roster includes players like Austin Reaves from the Los Angeles Lakers and Bobby Portis from the Milwaukee Bucks, with head coach Steve Kerr from the Golden State Warriors. Another team to include many National Basketball Association, NBA, players is Australia. They have a chance to make it far in the tournament. Spain is the current champion and will be looking to defend their title.
Notable players that will be representing their country will be, Nicolas Batum (France), Karl Anthony Towns (Dominican Republic), Thanasis Antetokounmpo (Greece), Yuta Watanabe (Japan), and many more. This tournament is a chance for many of these players to represent their country and win at the international level. It is also a perfect opportunity for fans to support and connect with their countries.
Most of the teams that are participating have been assembled with players from their domestic leagues. Some teams do not feature NBA players on their roster. This includes teams like Mexico, Venezuela, and Puerto Rico. Nations like South Sudan, Jordan, and New Zealand will be able to show how far they have come in basketball to qualify for this tournament.
The FIBA WC will be a competitive tournament to watch as teams face off to win the title of world champions. It will be a great way to watch meaningful basketball, before the regular season starts.
