Downtown Redlands Art Walk 2022
By Tyler Brock
The Downtown Redlands Art Walk is an event, like many others, that has been on a hiatus since the onset of COVID-19. But on October 23 it finally made it's return. State street, which goes right through the heart of Downtown, was closed to vehicle traffic and was alive with sculpture, paintings, photography, live music, and even a motorcycle show as you walked to the east end of the street.
Local artists set up their displays and were happy to chat about their vision and creative process with anyone who would listen. Artists were not only selling, but some were actually creating art as the event took place. There was also a station for kids to draw, paint, and create their own artwork set up by a local toy store.
A local coffee shop also hosted a motorcycle show where not only were there motorcycles on display, but there were various artists specializing in motorcycle specific gear. Everything from custom leather bags, to hand-painted designs for your helmet.
The Redlands Art Walk began in 2013 and was a biannual event up until the COVID pandemic. It started as a small event featuring a few local artists but has become very popular over the years. A date has not been scheduled for the next event.
