What's Going On in Downtown Upland?

By: Nadia Castro

Downtown Upland transitions into seasonal greetings, Christmas spirit and upholding certain regulations within the premises due to COVID-19. Downtown Upland has become vacant as time passes, with only a few shoppers or bicycle riders, however, they have found ways to bring people back.

Many restaurants accommodated to the new changes; patio seating is a way for people to enjoy their meals and bars are still open with various screens on stands by the tables to catch the game of the week. Downtown Upland has rearranged the driving pattern as they made space for canopies and seating for restaurants. While out, they require visitors to wear masks at all times including at the well-known coffee shops: Rad Coffee or Lucky's. Many shops like: Stardust Alley, Scavenger Treasures and Pennylane Record Shop are still open for business. Some have a capacity limit that has been instituted to maintain social distancing, six feet apart in the stores.

The Vintage Vault hosts The Upland Art Walk every other Saturday from 5 pm-10 pm with live music, art, small businesses, food vendors and more. This is a way for people inside and outside the community to support local artists and businesses. Masks are to be worn at all times throughout The Upland Art Walk and have fun.
