Police Shooting of Jacob Blake

On Sunday August 24, Raysean White witnessed the shooting of Jacob Blake. White claims Blake was trying to break up a fight when out of nowhere 7 to 8 police officers arrived. Blake having no interest in talking to the police, he began to load his children into their car to leave. Then Blake reached into his vehicle while a cop tugged on his shirt and seven gunshots were fired. Immediately he was taken to get help. Today Blake is still in recovery. Blake’s shooting is currently under investigations but it has started up protests across the United States. Wiscon’s governor has indicated he intends to take action over the shooting.

With at least 7 dead and 1.2M acres lost, Gov. Gavin Newsom says California faces critical week against 'historic' wildfires

Over the past few weeks there have been over 625 wildfires reported in California. They have burned more than 1.2 million acres, has over a quarter-million people under evacuation order and killed a minimum of 7 people. State officials still say everyone in the San Francisco Bay Area, Fresno, and Sacramento should be on high alert and ready to evacuate if needed. About one-third of California is said to have air that is unhealthy for all of the public. California’s air quality is now reported to be worse than India’s. Gov. Gavin Newsom said he is deploying every resource he has at his disposal to resolve this issue.

How Should We Talk About Kanye West’s Bipolar Disorder?

Kanye West is known for being one of the most influential rappers of the young generation. In 2020 Kanye West announced that he was running for the President of the U.S. Shortly after, Kanye came out with a new Album, tweets about divorcing Kim Kardashian, and made some very odd remarks about Harriet Tubman at a Presidential rally. Many people were concerned and disappointed in Kanye, until he explained that he was diagnosed with Bipolar Disorder at 39 years old. Bipolar Disorder is an extremely difficult to control, it causes episodes of depression and lashing out. It brings concern to Kanye’s family, fans and political supporters.

‘There’s something strange’: Baffling questions, conspiracy theories grow after Beirut blast

Earlier this month a stockpile of more than 2,750 tons of ammonium nitrate blew up in Beirut’s main port. Now, all citizens of Lebanon and the entire world are wondering who is to blame for the 178 recorded deaths and the thousands of injured, homeless and starving citizens of Lebanon. The most popular, yet least convincing, theory is that the blast was an accidental result of chronic mismanagement of Beirut’s port. Lebanon’s government has a long history of dirty dealings and is known to be extremely corrupt, incompetent, and manipulative which is why many refuse to believe the explanation to this historic explosion.

C.D.C. Changes Testing Guidance to Exclude People Without Covid-19 Symptoms, Worrying Experts

Even with COVID-19 cases rapidly increasing there has been some Universities allowing students to move into campus dorms and attend some courses in person. Ohio State University has 228 students who have received interim suspensions for violating rules of attending large gatherings. At Montclair University 11 students were suspended in less than a week for gathering without masks. At Syracuse University 23 students were suspended last week for being reckless at a gathering on the campus quad. Students are not the only ones getting suspended. Penn State University suspended an entire fraternity for hosting a social event. There have been more than 23,000 cases on 750 campuses since the COVID-19 crisis began.
