UFC 249 results -- Tony Ferguson vs. Justin Gaethje: Fight card, highlights, complete guide
On May 9, UFC 249 took place in Jacksonville, Florida without fans in the arena. It was the first live sporting event in America since March 12, when the NBA suspended play because of the COVID-19 outbreak. Other countries have had live sporting events such as, the Korean Baseball Organization, but just like the UFC, there were no fans in the crowd. There is now optimism of resuming the leagues which were suspended because of the outbreak.

2020 NFL schedule: Date and time for all 256 games in 2020 NFL season, including Texans-Chiefs opener
On May 7, the National Football League finally released their schedule for the 2020 season. It is usually released the week before the draft, but it was delayed because it was more difficult to plan due to COVID-19. While drafting the schedule, the NFL took precautions incase COVID-19 impacted the 2020 season. If all goes right, the season will start on September 10, with a playoff rematch when the Houston Texans come into Kansas City to face the defending Super Bowl champion's The Chiefs.

Newsom unveils rules governing how quickly California communities can reopen businesses
On May 8, Governor of California, Gavin Newsom decided to reopen California with phase 2. It means that some non-essential businesses like retail stores and clothing stores can open up with curbside pickup. Some in-dining restaurants and malls can also reopen, depending on if that area can practice social distancing and the spread of the virus is stabilized. Slowly but surely stores will be opened up to the public again depending on if the virus spreads and maintains social distancing.

Coronavirus: Masks no longer required in Inland Empire
Over the weekend, San Bernardino County and Riverside County removed the mandatory face-mask order, but will still be recommended to be worn in public places. Gatherings are still being prohibited in the county to slow the spread of the COVID-19 virus. Some businesses may or may not be requiring face-masks for their employees. The county will be seeking the consent of Gov. Gavin Newsom to move forward on the plan to reopen businesses that are under his later phases of his stages to reopen the state.

Nearly 20,000 Georgia Teens Are Issued Driver’s Licenses Without a Road Test
On April 23, Georgia, decided to issue driver's licenses without the required road test due to the DMV's being closed. As of May 7, 19,483 underage teens have gone from a permit to a provisional driver's license with the consent of their parent or responsible adult. The teens had their permit for a year and complied with Georgia’s mandatory driver education requirements. Gov. Brian Kemp later signed another executive order, stating Georgians who are issued licenses while it is in effect, will have to take a road test by Sept. 30 to keep their licenses. The only other state following Georgia with this law is Wisconsin, while the other 48 will be waiting until DMVs open to continue issuing driver's licenses.
