NBA Plans on Finishing Season

The National Basketball Association has plans on continuing the rest of the 2019-20 season. The season was postponed earlier this year due to the COVID-19 global virus outbreak. No matter the dater, the players and owners have a strong interest in finishing the season. ESPN’s Ramona Shelburne states "’If that's in July, if that's in August, if that's in September -- so be it, I don't think anyone wants to start a new season without crowning a champion from this season."’ Once the virus dies down, the commissioner will weigh his options on when the season will continue, whether they finish the regular season or jump straight into the playoffs, only time will tell if the season will come back.

NFL Draft Is Still On

The National Football League still has plans to have the NFL Draft on April 23-25, but with some exceptions. Due to the COVID-19, the draft will no longer be held in Las Vegas, Nevada as originally planned, but will instead be in a television studio like setting. The league had originally just cancelled the fan fest activities but was still planning on having the draft in Las Vegas, but scrapped the plan because of the seriousness of the coronavirus outbreak. The plan so far is to have analysts talk about the draft and cut to the team’s draft room for their selections. The draft will still be on television, so the rest of the world will be able to see, and will be airing on ESPN and NFL Network.
