New York City's iconic 21 Club is closing down

New York City's famed 21 Club restaurant will be "indefinitely ceasing operations," a restaurant union president told CNN. The club closed in March due to the Covid-19 pandemic and has yet to be reopened. Bill Grandfield, President of the Unite Here Local 100 labor union, received a letter on Dec. 9 stating the restaurant will be closing and all people employed will be permanently terminated as of March 9, 2021. Granfield believes that one day in the future the restaurant will reopen once Covid-19 is under control.

Trump schemes next political moves after effort to overthrow democracy dead ends at Supreme Court

On Friday night President Donald Trump's effort to try staying in power, after the president-elect Joe Biden won the votes of the people, came to an end at the Supreme Court. In the end his attempts have failed but he is currently scheming his next political moves instead of making the transition for Biden easier. The damage he has done to Americans' faith and trust in democratic institutions will last even after he packs his bags and ends what will go down as one of the worst presidencies in history.

Trump raised firing Barr in White House meeting on Friday

On Friday President Donald Trump raised the likelihood of firing Attorney General William Barr but is unclear whether he'll dismiss him before the end of his term. Trump's advisors have warned him of possible consequences if Barr is removed. Trump spent Saturday morning posting angry tweets about Barr. Trump spent the better part of the year fuming about Barr's predecessor, Jeff Sessions, so it is not clear if his anger towards Barr will confirm an immediate removal.

Fox News uses the word 'hate' much more then MSNBC or CNN

Fox news has used the word "hate" five times more than their news competition. It appeared 647 times on Fox, compared to 118 on MSNBC. Fox usually pairs certain words alongside “hate.” The most notable was “they” – as in, “they hate” and it was used 101 times between January and May. MSNBC used it just five times. The usage of "they hate" increased over time with a spike around the 2016 Trump-Clinton election. When Trump began his presidency the word "hate" really took off. Fox has used the word hate a lot to show how they felt about anything Trump related for the most part.

People think that it's about Individual rights when it comes to wearing a mask. It is more like a part of our government to protect us from the Covid-19 pandemic. People do not understand that individual rights and the state power are not really opposites. The rights become worthless to enable our government to protect us during these economic crisis.
