Biden's transition into the White House's underway
As Trump continues to fight the legitimacy of the 2020 election, it looks as though his term is coming to an end as we enter into the transitionary period to put president elect Joe Biden into office. With the legally mandated transition underway, Biden will get access to briefings, to which Trump was hesitant to allow him prior. This will also aid Biden in allowing him to converse with government officials on how to best de-escalate the COVID-19 situation that is currently spiking in the United States as we near the Holiday season.

Covid-19 spikes in young children
In the week of Nov. 19, there has been a reported spike in COVID-19 cases amongst young children, bringing up the count to 144,000 new cases. This information comes to us from the American Academy of Pediatrics. Although the likelihood of kids dying from contracting COVID-19 is still very much a rarity, this spells caution for families as we enter into the winter season, where families will be staying inside, and also where families will be gathering for the winter festivities. Children hospitalizations as a result of COVID-19 amount to about 1.2-3.1%.

Millions Americans Expected to be Without a Home by the End of the Year
As we reach the end of the year as coronavirus spikes, fears of eviction and foreclosures rise in low income communities among American citizens. About 5.8 million Americans have voiced their concerns about being able to keep a roof over their head by the end of the year unless some sort of government aid comes their way. Which seems unlikely at this point given there hasn’t been much word on the Trump administration's plans to quell the surge in COVID cases beyond what has already been attempted. According to the census bureau 17.9 million Americans failed to pay their rent or mortgage last month, and if the foreclosures go through, that means 1/3rd of them will be out of a home.

Music Icons Express Anger Towards the Grammys
Many music stars, including Nicki Manaj, Justin Beiber, and namely, The Weekend, have taken to social media to voice their displeasure with the current line up of nominees for this year's grammys.
The Weekend singer, Abel Makkonen Tesfaye, tweeted: "The Grammys remain corrupt."
And to add on to the list of grievances against the recording academy, Nicki Minaj also tweeted, "Never forget the Grammys didn’t give me my best new artist award when I had 7 songs simultaneously charting on billboard & bigger first week than any female rapper in the last decade- went on to inspire a generation. They gave it to the white man Bon Iver. #PinkFriday,"
These are harsh words that are reminiscent of the #OscarsSoWhite movement a few years ago. The academy has yet to respond to these statements.
