COVID-19 California Cases

California's Covid-19 cases are starting to surge at a high rate. Many businesses are facing consequences as California could be headed into another lockdown. California has crossed the one million confirmed cases of Covid-19 on Thursday. The rising numbers are leading to more closures as California is heading into the state’s four-tier system for reopening. The more the rate rises the more limits will be imposed to help stop the spread.

New Orleans Saints face discipline after violating Covid-19 protocols

The New Orleans Saints are in light of facing discipline action from the NFL after violating the Covid-19 protocols that were stated by the league. After the Saints had a big week nine victory against Tom Brady and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers with the score finishing at 38-3. The Saints celebrated without face masks dancing around the locker room with Sean Payton and most of the players. This is the second time the Saints have broken Covid-19 protocols as in week two against the Raiders, Sean Payton was not wearing a face mask resulting in a $250,000 fine against the Saints.

Los Angeles Lakers Trading for Third Star

The Los Angeles Lakers have been in talks for a third star this past offseason. With names mentioned such as Demar DeRozan, J.J. Redick, Buddy Hield, and Chris Paul. The Los Angeles Lakes might have the opportunity of landing guard Dennis Schröder in a trade with the Oklahoma City Thunder. The Lakers have agreed in Principle with the Thunder to acquire Dennis Schröder for Lakers No. 28 pick in the upcoming NBA draft as the Oklahoma City Thunder are currently in rebuild mode although Lakers Danny Green has also been a focal point of the trade. Dennis Schröder is coming off one of the best seasons of his NBA career averaging 18.9 points and four assists per game. The NBA’s moratorium will end at noon ET and deals can begin to be complete.

Dr. Anthony Fauci believes the Nation could start growing back to normal in April

Dr. Anthony Fauci, the nation’s top infectious expert, in an interview with CNN said he thinks that nation could start getting back to normal in April or July of 2021. Fauci pointed to the Pfizer’s announcement that the vaccine being developed is more than 90% effective and another company is expected to soon unveil its early results. 

Fauci said, “Vaccines have to come, they have to be deployed and fundamental public health measures can’t be abandoned.” 

As COVID-19 cases begin to skyrocket in most states the vaccine would really help reopen the economy as some states are expecting another shutdown.

Atlanta School Principal and College Professor wife drown on Puerto Rico Vacation

Jamar a Principal at an Atlanta High School and his wife Ann Maria Robinson were swimming in the Ocean Sunday behind their beach resort hotel. Both Mr. and Mrs. Robinson were dragged by rip currents and both went underwater. Reports say that Mr. Robinson tried to reach for his wife as they both were submerged underwater from the currents. 

Authorities said, “Onlookers unsuccessfully tried to rescue the couple.” 

Football Coach Bobby May from Westlake Hgih School released a statement saying, “Our hearts are broken for the family of Mr. Robison and Mrs. Robinson and the entire Westlake community. We will always remember Mr. Robinson as the principal who worked tirelessly, was always upbeat, passionate, never missed a game or event and LOVED his students with a heart that was unmatched.”
