Nobel Prize In Chemistry: Two Women Share The Prize
The 2020 Nobel Prize in chemistry was awarded to scientists Emmanuelle Charpentier and Jennifer A. Doudna, for creating a gene-editing tool. On Wednesday The Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences announced Charpentier and Doudna, from France and United States, were awarded the prize for their development of the CRISPR-cas9 genetic scissors. The scissors are able to change the DNA of animals and other living things with high precision. It is also considered an important tool in finding new cancer therapies and to make the dream of curing inherited diseases possible. This is the first time that two women share a Nobel Prize.

Qatar 2022 World Cup Qualifiers Ready to Kick-Off
After international matches between national soccer teams were suspended, the South American Confederation is ready to begin the qualifiers starting this Friday, Oct. 9 with fixtures Uruguay vs Chile, Paraguay vs Peru and Argentina Vs Ecuador. The Colombian soccer team starting goalkeeper David Ospina, one of the elected to play against Venezuela, couldn't travel because of COVID-19 infections inside his club Napoli in Italy. In South American qualifiers, 10 teams compete in order to qualify, the first 4 teams qualify directly while the 5th place has to play a two legged game against a team from another confederation in order to qualify,

Trump Calls A Stop to Stimulus Talks
According to Nancy Pelosi, Speaker of the United States House of Representatives, President Trump is making a mistake by calling a stop to negotiations on a stimulus package to address the COVID-19 pandemic. Tweets by Trump stated a changed course on negotiating coronavirus relief that he was calling off until after the election concluded. Pelosi stated the White House is now the country's most dangerous place as COIVD-19has infected many of Trump's closest advisers, and according to her, Trump's medications might be affecting his way of thinking. Pelosi also called the president's advisers in order to stage an intervention.

Hurricane Delta Heading to US Gulf Coast
On Wednesday morning with winds of 105 mph, Hurricane Delta made landfall on Mexico's Yucatan Peninsula and is expected to move north toward the US Gulf Coast over the upcoming days. A hurricane watch was issued for parts of the Gulf Coast, from High Island, Texas to Grand Isle, Louisiana. Governor of Louisiana John Bel Edwards, declared a state of emergency and stated the hurricane will bring strong winds, heavy rain and a life-threatening storm but is hopeful Trump will approve his request for a federal emergency declaration. In Mexico people got prepared by buying supplies they need, while tourists were evacuated from hotels with many waiting for flights that got cancelled or delayed because of the storm.

Biden Calls For Debate Cancellation If Trump Is Still Infected
Presidential Candidate Joe Biden said the debate scheduled for next week with President Donald Trump should be cancelled if Trump is still infected with Covid-19. Biden stated the debate on Oct. 15 in Miami should only take place under strict health regulations and mentioned how the virus, that has affected Trump and various White House officials, is a big problem.
Biden said, "I’m looking forward to being able to debate him, but I just hope all the protocols are followed."
Tim Murtaugh Trump's campaign spokesman, responded “President Trump will be healthy and will be there. There’s no getting out of this one for Biden and his protectors in the media can’t cover for him.”
