Women's March in Washington
Thousands of women, and other proclaimed women's rights activists, gathered in Washington D.C. to protest the nomination of Amy Coney Barrett as a Supreme Court Judge. The vote is scheduled to take place on Oct. 22 and this march was an effort to sway the opinions of the Senate Judiciary Committee who will be deciding whether or not Barrett will be nominated. The march also aimed to garner women voters in the upcoming presidential election cycle with many attendees showing their support for Biden and voting Trump out.

Covid Infections Surging in U.S.
The amount of daily Covid-19 infections have risen dramatically in recent days than in it’s previous peak in the summer during July. With data compiled by John Hopkins University, the country has risen to over 69 thousand reported cases in a single day marking this as the highest since the July 29. The midwest was hit hard with North and South Dakota having the highest ratio of cases. With a total of 8.05 million reported cases and 218 thousand deaths, the United States has the highest amount of deaths and cases in the world.

Braves vs Dodgers
The sixth game of the MLB playoffs have begun as the L.A. Dodgers face off against the Atlanta Braves on The Globe of Life field in Arlington, Texas. The day before, the Dodgers missed elimination by winning the previous Game 5. Meanwhile Atlanta Braves are in their first appearance of the World Series in 30 years. With first pitch set for 4:38 pm, fans were expecting a fiery match as the Dodgers had lost to the Braves their three previous games, qualifying to stay only on the last Game 5.

Playstation’s New Look
Gamers have long anticipated the way the PS5’s U.I. (user interface) would look like since the reveal of the console on Feb. 25 earlier this year, now with four weeks until launch Sony has shown what it looks like and what is to be expected. More streamlined and with a plethora of new features, the PS5 reveals a sleek design that aims to aid the player. New features include “Game Help” that guides the player and “picture in picture” sharing where two people can display their screen while simultaneously playing. Sony emphasized the “activity cards” on the U.I. that are designed to save time and better organize the screen.

Federal Aid For California
Fires in California have ravaged an estimated two million acres, including its largest; the Creek Fire. Despite initial rejection from FEMA (Federal Emergency Management Agency) in August, as well as Trump speaking publicly about denying aid to the wildfires, the movement was reversed, and the White House approved for federal disaster relief, as reported by Governor Newsome. This news comes after a FEMA representative stated that the severity of the fires were not “of such severity and magnitude” to warrant help from the agency.
