More Than 1,300 Flights Into or Out of the U.S. Have Been Delayed
U.S. airlines are expecting to see a record 3.1 million passengers come through the airport today, according to a report from Airlines for America, an airline trade organization. 31.6 million passengers were projected to travel using U.S. airlines, which is up 3.7% from last year's totals. By the middle of the morning, more than 1,300 flights had been delayed and more than 700 had been cancelled altogether. The weather is expected to affect travel going into Monday.

9 Killed, 3 Injured in a South Dakota Plane Crash
Nine people died in a plane crash that took place in Chamberlain, South Dakota. Among those who lost their lives were two children and the pilot. Three other passengers were taken to the hospital in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. The plane was traveling from Chamberlain to Idaho Falls, Idaho on Saturday when it crashed shortly after taking off. NTSB investigators were sent to the scene, and will look at different factors that could have caused the plane to go down. Some of these factors include weather and the plane's history.

This means that Icelandic fisherman no longer have access to this resource for their commercial fishing industry. The temperatures in the oceans of Iceland have risen anywhere between 1.8 and 3.6 degrees Fahrenheit over the last two decades. These changes in temp caused some species of fish to leave, disrupting the economy, and others to come, causing geopolitical issues.

10 Wounded in French Quarter After Bayou Classic
A shooting rampage near New Orleans' French Quarter resulted in 10 people wounded, while other football fans running for cover. The shooting took place on Canal Street, close to Bourbon Street. The area was full of tourists and police officers, even though it was after three o'clock in the morning. Two of the people who were wounded were taken to the hospital in critical condition. No arrests have been made at this point. One person was detained at the scene, but it is unclear what role, if any, that person played in the shooting.
