Fortnite Chapter 2 Release
On October 13, following a rocket event, Fortnite fans were taken by surprise when a black hole appeared on their screens. Players couldn't access the game until Tuesday October 15, when Fortnite Chapter 2, season one was released. Along with a brand new map, Fortnite made adjustments to weapons, vehicles and mobility. Fortnite is a free battle royale game and is avaliable on PC, PS4, XBOX, IOS and android devices.

Bay Area Earthquake
San Francisco was struck with an 4.5 magnitude earthquake on Monday October 14. The earthquake occurred at 10:33 pm and the epicenter was located in the Walnut Creek, CA. 10 minutes prior to the 4.5 magnitude earthquake, a foreshock shook the area. The earthquake happened 3 days before the 30th anniversary of the 1989 Loma Prieta earthquake which killed 63 people and injured thousands more.The USGS (United States Geological Survey) said there is a 2% chance the area may feel aftershocks in the upcoming days.

California Tells Schools to Start Later, Giving Teenagers More Sleep
On Monday October 14, Gov. Gavin Newsom signed a law to allow students to start school no earlier than 8:30 am for high schools and 8:00 am for middle schools. The passing of the law is to help students regulate sleeping schedules and prevent absences and tardiness. California schools must place the new law in order by July of 2022.

2020 Democratic Debate
The fourth Democratic presidential debate takes the stage with more candidates than the last democratic debate which was held in September. What We Know About the Fort Worth Police Shooting of Atatiana Jefferson
Aaron Dean, a Fort Worth policeman, was arrested and charged for murder after fatally shooting Atatiana Jefferson, 28, in her own home. Jefferson was shot through her bedroom window with her 8-year old nephew present. After the event, Dean was placed on administrative leave and released from Tarrant County later that night.
