1. Virgin America Will Soon Cease to Exist:
After Alaska Airlines bought Virgin America in April of 2016, the debate whether the airline would keep its old name or change to Alaska Airlines sparked attention to frequent fliers. In a new statement, Alaska Airlines vice president of marketing said, "While the Virgin America name is beloved to many, we concluded that to be successful on the West Coast, we had to do so under one name-for consistency and efficiency." The changes will begin as soon as 2018 and will be completed by 2019. Changes include uniforms, in-flight entertainment, destinations and the name and logo of the aircrafts.

2. California Trump Rally Turns Violent Prompting Arrests:
Two thousand people attended a march in support of Trump at Bolsa Chica State Beach in Orange County. Around thirty anti-Trump protesters turned violent, a few whom began pepper spraying marchers. Two people sustained minor injuries during the confrontation. The anti-Trump protesters had stated earlier in the week that they planned on building "a human wall" around the supporters.

3. One Dead, One Wounded on The Las Vegas Strip:
A man, who shot and killed one person and wounded another in a bus on the Las Vegas strip, surrendered without any violence Saturday afternoon. The standoff reportedly lasted for more than four hours. The man had a handgun when he surrendered and no one else was on the bus. Police stated that the incident was not related to terrorism or the burglary in the Bellagio earlier.

4. Debbie Reynolds and Carrie Fisher Honored in Los Angeles: 
Mother and daughter actresses Carrie Fisher and Debbie Reynolds, were honored at a public service located at Hollywood's Forest Lawn. A tribute performance by James Blunt and the Gay Men's Chorus of Los Angeles included some of the tributes for the mother and daughter. There were many speakers including Todd Fisher, brother and son of the actresses. He stated he planned the two-hour event instead of a memorial because his mom did not like them. This event came after the private memorial service held in January and was attended by many celebrities.

5. Uber Parks All Self-Driving Cars After Accident in Arizona: 
After a self-driving car powered by Uber crashed with another vehicle, the company put a hold on the pilot program. The accident occurred after another vehicle did not yield to the Uber car making a turn. Authorities and the company are investigating the incident. Uber was testing the program in San Fransisco, Arizona and Pittsburgh. This incident is not the first self-driving car incident. A Tesla car, in auto pilot mode, crashed into a semi-truck, killing the driver of the car.
