Chaffey College's Undocumented Community: A Highlight and Celebration

A collection of informative and opinionated pieces in conjunction with California Humanities aimed to informing Chaffey College’s students and faculty alike to reflect on the paths in which campus resources for undocumented individuals were implemented, why they’re so important, and why we can improve them.

Chaffey College is home to approximately 1,000 undocumented students across all three campuses, with resources available online and in person to assist students and help them prepare for their journey through higher education while at Chaffey.

We developed this project by diving deep into Chaffey's Rancho Cucamonga campus and its resources by talking and connecting with students in the community, along with the people who advocate for them. We wanted to properly utilize the platform we were given to share students experiences, from how the resources created were started, how we can improve those resources, and how to celebrate undocumented students' success. All views shared are our own.

In the findings of our research, we ask our audience to consider: What can you do to better support and encourage your college’s undocumented community as an ally, and are you holding the institutions around you accountable for maintaining a safe space for them to thrive?
