Due to the shutdown of all gyms, perhaps it's become tempting to lay in bed and binge watch your favorite shows or movies along with your favorite snacks. Although this may sound like your only option, it is important to keep in mind that this may not benefit our health in the long-run. Our physical health should still be a priority as much as our mental health during the COVID-19 quarantine, but do not be discouraged if it hasn't been apart of your new daily routine.
So, what exactly can be beneficial to do at home to ensure the maintenance of your health?
There are more than a few channels on YouTube that can assist your home workouts, with or without equipment, that allows you to focus on targeted areas. A few channels that you may deem suitable are: Fitness Blender, MadFit, Pamela Reif and Natacha Oceane. Not only do these channels not require equipment, but offer a variety of low and high impact exercises to select from to achieve the workout desired to feel accomplished and boost your mental health all under 30 minutes.
There are also mobile apps you can download to your mobile device to contribute to your daily routine of wellness, such as: Nike Fitness Training Club, Seven - 7 Minute Workout, and Daily Workouts Fitness Trainer. These fitness applications do not require a debit or credit card, nor does it require a membership, making it easier to fit some time to include a workout without the tedious hassle.
If you are a member to gyms such as Planet Fitness, 24 Hour Fitness, and Gold's Gym make sure to check their websites for online workouts for a taste of being at the gym, but while practicing social distancing at home!
During this time, it is important to take care of yourself not only mentally, but physically as well. It is never too late to get a jump start to building a healthier lifestyle.
