Lakers surge past Hawks to win their 4th straight.

After coming off an eight-point win over the Kings, the Lakers won their third straight to remain undefeated in the new year, dropping the Atlanta Hawks 134–118 to improve their record to 21–19.

In arguably their best outing of the season, finishing with a season-high 37 assists as a team, the Lakers had five players finish in double-figures with four scoring over 20 points, shooting 49% (50 for 101) overall and 41% (17 for 41) from behind the arc in their second-highest scoring game of the season with 134 points.

For the 9th time in the past 10 games, LeBron James finished with over 30 points, scoring a game-high 32 points on 54% (13 for 24), shooting in tonight's win, with 17 of those points coming in the 4th quarter. James was also able to add 9 assists, 9 rebounds, 4 steals, and 3 blocks in his efforts.

After the win, James spoke on the Lakers' current four-game win streak, saying: "We're getting our guys back. It's literally that simple."

In 30 minutes off the bench, Talen Horton-Tucker finished with 21 points on 54% (7 for 13) shooting, adding 5 assists and a couple of steals in his efforts.

Carmelo Anthony was the Lakers' second-leading scorer off the bench, scoring 17 points in 27 minutes, finishing 50% (5 for 10) overall from the floor, hitting four threes on 57% (4 for 7) from three.

Finishing the first half with 21 points, Malik Monk continued his offensive spark in tonight's surge, scoring 29 points (2nd most) on 55% shooting from the floor, knocking down 7 threes as he shot 58% (7 for 13) overall from three in 34 minutes.

Head coach Frank Vogel gave his insight on Malik Monk's spark as of late, scoring over 20 points in the previous three games, including tonight, saying: "What we love about him is he can create, and he's a finisher."

The Lakers' next matchup comes at home in their final home game of a four-game home stretch this Sunday against the 26–14 Memphis Grizzlies, who are currently on a seven-game win streak.
