Lakers win big over Thunder with the help of LeBron's 33 point outing.
After a disheartening loss to the Grizzlies, the Lakers rebounded in tonight's showdown against the Thunder, winning 116–95 to improve their season record to 14–13.
In tonight's win, the Lakers were dialed in on all cylinders, shooting 45% (19 for 42) from beyond the arc, totaling 47% (41 for 87) overall from the floor that helped give them their highest lead of 29 points to get back in the win column.
Head coach Frank Vogel spoke on the Lakers responding to last night's loss and his key takeaways from tonight's win, saying: "We're continuing to grow and gel as a team."
With Anthony Davis out with knee pain for tonight's game, LeBron James had to be one of the most important performers for the purple and gold, delivering with a 33 point performance on 4 of 6 from three and 13 of 20 (65%) shooting overall, adding 6 assists and 5 rebounds for a plus/minus of +19.
After the game, James spoke on the outing for the Lakers, discussing his health overall (Abdominal/Groin) since the start of the season, saying: "I'm starting to get a lot healthier as the season goes on, especially with my low ab and my groin. That's been feeling a lot better as of the last couple of weeks."
Avery Bradley was the big surprise of the night, scoring a season-high 22 points on 6 for 8 shooting from three, adding 4 steals, and a plus/minus of +13 in his effort.
Bradley spoke of his two-way performance in tonight's win, saying: "My focus was defense, and I was fortunate enough to get some looks on the offensive end and make them."
Talen Horton-Tucker and Austin Reaves were the only other Lakers to score in double figures, with Horton-Tucker scoring 11 points on the night and Reaves adding 13 points in his efforts.
The Lakers will return home in preparation to face the rebuilding 5–21 Orlando Magic on Sunday night, looking to build on their big win in Oklahoma City and construct a much-needed win streak in their schedule.
