Do We Really Know What Makes a Video Game Good?

On Jan. 30, Suicide Squad: Kill The Justice League the video game, was released on console and computer platforms. Where the villains Harley Quinn, Deadshot, Captain Boomerang and King shark embark on am mission to kill the Justice League, with the early release of the game came a flood of spoilers. Most notably of how Justice League members die.

Even though the title of the game is the biggest inclination to the storyline. The game's description states "Join the newly recruited members of Amander Waller's infamous Task Force X. Harley Quinn, Deadshot, Captain Boomerang and King Shark as they set out on an impossible mission to kill the Justice League'.

A topic of discussion upon the game's release was how would they fight any of the heroes. The Justice League is significantly stronger than the four villains. Fans and consumers were in agreement that "Task Force X" stood no chance of facing the toughest team of superheroes, and that the developers of the game made the heroes considerably weaker.

TikTok was the main spread of spoilers and cut scenes from the game. This led to many comments from unhappy players and content creators attacking and criticizing the game for having normal humans being able to beat powerful heroes from the DC Universe.

Consumers and content creators spread their opinions online through YouTube, Reddit and Twitter about how the story should have played out, wanting the villains to help the heroes instead of killing them.

While a large part of the consumers did not like the story of the game, there are some that enjoy its new-generation graphics and animations. This gives the player great hints into each respective character's personality based on how they move and fight throughout the game.

Suicide Squad has a big personality with its movement system that helps players traverse through the game's incredibly large map. This is with the battle system that allows the player to do large amounts of damage by getting critical hits and building up a bar to continuously do high damage.

Going back to the negatives about the game, it is a farming style game. This archetype of game style is one that most casual players do not enjoy, whilst most hardcore gamers find tedious. You, the player, are required to fight many enemies repeatedly for good weapons and equipment to make your character optimal for the coming fights.

The story itself is good when the player is able to fully play through the game, providing logical ways as to how the Suicide Squad could defeat the Justice League. It does well to flesh out the main characters of the game with dialogue and interactions.

This can lead to players feeling as if the game is more time-consuming aiming to be just enough to play the story without issue.

The game's combat system caters to more experienced players. leading players into having to judge different mechanics during combat, which leads into having to devote a lot of time into learning and how to manage. something people who play casually might not the have the time for.

Playing on easier difficulties doesn't help players who play to relax, as better items and weapons are locked behind harder difficulties. This could single out casual players from the game who do not wish to play against harder enemies.

However, the game's success will depend on its players. Their own opinions being the critical component to whether this game will last as players continue to play or stop altogether. This subjective way of thinking keeps a game alive or kills it, there are possibly too many facts and opinions on what decides a game is good or bad as differing opinions always clash.
