According to a Twitter post made by Chaffey College, a campus employee was taken into custody by the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Office on Monday, March 28 for further investigation.

An independent non-profit organization by the name of CC Unit organized a sting operation designed to catch people in the act of soliciting illegal explicit activities with minors. Donald Dreyer, Technical Specialist for the Visual and Performing Arts at Chaffey College, was named by the organization as the suspect that had allegedly texted with a 13-year old boy, detailing extremely graphic sex acts.

According to a now-private YouTube live stream, Mr. Dreyer was confronted by the team about his alleged messaging activities with a minor. When one of the team members pressed Dreyer about the nature of the alleged inappropriate text messages, Mr. Dreyer insisted on speaking privately with the team member and claimed that he was “just trying to scare him away.”

Chaffey College is unable to provide details on matters of ongoing investigations regarding employees. They released the following statement over their official Twitter account stating: “The individual involved in today’s incident is being detained pending further investigation. The SB County Sheriff’s Department will investigate. The district cannot comment on this individual’s employment status, but is taking any and all necessary actions to address this issue.”

This is an ongoing news piece and it will be updated as we obtain further information.
